PC running on AMD graphics hardware: we have a Windows 8 solution for you

AMD has produced a set of drivers that support the Consumer Preview of Windows 8. According to NeoWin, the fresh drivers include support for “stereo 3D [and]optimized screen rotation,” among other features. AMD claims that they will also improve a machine’s power consumption, something that mobile users of Microsoft’s latest beta will appreciate.
You can snag the drivers here. You can find full documentation here. The drivers support both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 8. You can find installation instructions here, if you get confused. The graphics cards that this impact include:
 
  • AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series
  • AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series
  • AMD Radeon HD 7000M Series
  • AMD Radeon HD 6000M Series
  • AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series
  • AMD A-Series APU
  • AMD C-Series APU
  • AMD E-Series APU
  • AMD FirePro Series
  • AMD FIrePro 3D Series

Yes and Allot of the Intel based Machines use AMD graphic like HP (some of them)!

So you may want to check your device manager to see what type video chipset your are using before going the PC manufacture site.

PLEASE Note that...You may want to uninstall the old Video driver before installing the Win 8 update!
This will save you some time and errors as well as conflicts!

I haven't bought a PC in ages. I roll my own. This way I know what I got. ;)

I do the same but the laptops are to expensive to custom build LOL!

may main machines are always Custom from back in the late 90's.

Even did few few earlier, but DOS was the way then!

Yeah, I've considered building a custom laptop but haven't yet due to pricing...and my expensive camera hobby! LOL
